WHAT IS CCMR & CTE?

CCMR (College, Career, and Military Readiness) and CTE (Career and Technical Education) are essential components integrated into the culture of many school districts, including SRISD, to ensure that students are well-prepared for life after high school.

CCMR focuses on preparing students for success in college, the workforce, or military service by providing them with the necessary academic knowledge, technical skills, and real-world experiences. This includes opportunities such as dual credit courses, college entrance exam preparation, earning industry-based certifications, and meeting military enlistment requirements. By integrating CCMR into the district culture, schools help foster a supportive environment where students are encouraged to pursue their goals and equipped with the tools they need for success.

CTE programs offer hands-on learning in fields like healthcare, technology, business, agriculture, and more. These programs are deeply embedded in the district’s culture, providing students with opportunities to develop job-specific skills, gain practical experience, and earn industry certifications while still in high school. CTE not only helps students explore career interests but also gives them a competitive edge in the workforce or further education.

By making CCMR and CTE a fundamental part of the district’s culture, SRISD ensures that students receive the guidance, resources, and experiences necessary to be successful in their chosen paths, whether that’s attending college, starting a career, or serving in the military.
