Superintendent Announces Retirement
After 33 years of education in a variety of roles Teacher-Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal at every level PK-12 and Superintendent, Ronny Snow has announced his retirement from Scurry Rosser ISD, effective June 30, 2025.
According to Mr. Snow, he's looking forward to the next chapter with future opportunities and spending more time with his family. Also, he wanted to give to the board time enough time to plan for the transition of leadership and hire a new superintendent.
"I am very proud of the work we have accomplished, including the creation of the Scurry-Rosser ISD Foundation, return to UIL competition, overhaul of the gifted and talented program, and numerous security enhancements at campuses. I believe new leadership and a new perspective will continue to build on our legacy of success, and bring new ideas to the table," said Superintendent Snow.
Mr. Snow says that school success has been all about working together as a team. "I have been blessed to work with wonderful people at SRISD. Our teachers, leadership team, and school board deserve all of the credit for working together as a team for the success of our students. The District is in excellent shape and will continue to accomplish great things in the future."
The Board extends its best wishes to Mr. Snow in his future endeavors. Leading up to his retirement, Mr. Snow will assist the Board with the transition of leadership. On its part, the Board will soon begin its search for a new Superintendent so as not to disrupt the District's operations.
