Scurry-Rosser ISD is partnering with Anonymous Alerts to bring an anti-bullying app to ensure the safety and welfare of our students. The app allows individuals in the school community to anonymously submit alerts about suspicious activity, safety threats, alcohol or drug use, depression, harassment, family issues, dangerous persons, campus safety concerns, and self-harm issues to school administrators or counselors. School officials then have the opportunity to continue the conversation by using the system’s anonymous 2-way communications messaging tool. This will help officials to better investigate the situation and take appropriate action. Scurry-Rosser ISD Superintendent James D. Sanders said: "We are serious about student safety and are providing the Anonymous Alert app as an additional measure for our community. Beginning in the fall semester this new program will replace the Safe Schools Helpline currently in use. Our students will use this system to communicate anonymously and privately with trusted adults."

Students, parents, and staff members can download the Anonymous Alerts® app for free on Apple and Android and gain access to the service by using a simple activation code that will be provided by the district. On SRISD’s website, there will be an Anonymous Alerts® web-button that allows user access to send an enhanced web-based report, a photo, video, or screenshot. Students will be able to view a “helpful links and resources” section in the mobile app that contains links to informational websites and videos related to cyber-bullying, as well as social and emotional learning, self-harm prevention, and mental health self-help content. The system will be monitored during the school year.
