On Monday, January 12, 2026, Scurry-Rosser ISD called a School Board Election, giving neighbors, families, and community members who reside within the school district the opportunity to help shape the future of our schools. The Election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The Board has 2 places open for reelection.
Scurry-Rosser ISD has always been more than just a school district. It is a reflection of the close-knit, small-town communities it serves — where traditions matter, relationships run deep, and everyone takes pride in supporting local students. From classrooms and campuses to Friday night lights, our schools bring the community together and help define who we are.
The Board of Trustees plays an important role in carrying that tradition forward. Board members help set district policies, approve the annual budget, and plan for the district’s future, always keeping students, families, and staff at the center of their work. Their leadership helps ensure decisions reflect the values and expectations of the Scurry and Rosser communities.
The first day to apply for a place on the ballot was Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The deadline to file is 4:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026. Interested candidates should file their application in person with Ivory Phillips at 10705 S. State Hwy 34, Scurry. TX 75158. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, excluding holidays.
When filing, the candidate will be asked to execute and have notarized a loyalty oath, swearing to uphold the constitutional laws of the United States and Texas.
As required by law, candidates must also appoint a campaign treasurer by completing the appropriate Campaign Treasurer Appointment (CTA) form. This form can be found in the application packet. This step is required for all candidates, regardless of whether they intend to accept political contributions. A candidate may not accept political contributions or make expenditures until the CTA form has been filed.
Each candidate, or their appointed campaign treasurer, is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all political contributions and expenditures as well as filing all required reports with the district's designated filing authority.
