House Bill 1481 requires all Texas public schools to adopt and enforce a written policy prohibiting students from using personal communication devices on school property during the day. Scurry-Rosser ISD will require all students to turn off and store their personal devices in a secure location during the day. Scurry-Rosser ISD Hires Melanie Bowers as the Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs.
Please join us in welcoming Melanie Bowers as our new Director of Curriculum and Federal Programs! Melanie is an experienced leader with a proven history of developing student-centered systems that foster innovative teaching and learning. Her approach brings all stakeholders together to contribute and collaborate, ensuring success for every student.
With a distinguished career in education, Melanie has consistently: Increased campus scores, built leadership capacity from within, and established sustainable systems through campus-based leadership teams. Her work is grounded in character and integrity, and she proudly represents herself and her district with professionalism and heart — serving as a role model in the community.
Melanie brings over a decade of leadership experience, having served as Principal in Kaufman ISD for the past 11 years.
Her academic journey includes:

M.Ed. – University of North Texas
Superintendent Certification – University of Texas at Tyler
