Dear parents and families,
Your child took the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) earlier this spring, and soon you will receive your child’s results. The state assessment is one of many ways to measure student learning. Teachers will use STAAR results along with other information to support your child’s learning in the new school year.
Beginning June 10, 2025 for STAAR end-of-course assessments and June 17, 2024 for STAAR grades 3–8 assessments, you will be able to access your child’s STAAR results by logging into the district parent portal or the Family Portal on the Texas Assessment website. (Click on Texas Assessment). This will take you directly to your child’s STAAR results, which will include detailed information for each test question, identifying your child’s strengths as well as areas where they may need additional support. Families have shared that seeing which questions their child got right and wrong has been the most useful. You will also see easy-to-use resources to help your child focus on the skills they most need help with and can work on at home.

🌟 Grant Spotlight 🌟
We’re excited to highlight how grant funding is making a difference in our classrooms! 🎉
Written by Roxie Goldsmith:
Physical sensory items give students a physical outlet to release excess energy. For students with ADHD or similar challenges, engaging with these items can improve focus and concentration by providing an activity that helps them release excess energy. Physical sensory items can support the development of gross motor skills. These items are often used during sensory breaks, which are short periods of time when students step away from their usual tasks to engage in physical or sensory activities. This helps them to reset, release tension, and come back to class feeling more focused and ready to learn. Overall, physical sensory items are essential for creating a learning environment where students can feel calm, engaged, and supported, helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
