What a week we have had at SRES! Today our PreK parents finished out a week of being spoiled with pizza, pizza, and more pizza! For dessert we were treated to the STAR treatment with star shaped cookies, YUM! Our Scurry-Rosser Education Foundation set up a table with a variety of HTeaO flavored teas. It has been an awesome week and our entire staff feels so incredibly appreciated by our parents, grandparents, and community members. Thank you to all of our parents who organized, set up, and cleaned up each day so that our staff could have so many wonderful meals this week. Words can't express how much we all appreciate the kindness and support you show us daily.

We concluded the week with a fantastic salad and pasta bar, thanks to our 4th-grade parents. A huge thank you goes out to the Education Foundation for providing HTEAO. Special thanks to Mrs. Jesse Barnes, Dana Shumate, and Maegan Miller for ensuring everything was running smoothly. We also want to express our gratitude to Mrs. Courtney Reed for providing some delicious cookies! SRMS had an amazing week. Once again, we appreciate our wonderful parents for coming together to make this possible.

Mason Muncrief earned his Electrical Lineworker Certificate through TVCC, becoming the first SRISD student to complete this program.

Alexis Elliott, Caleb Peavy, Laurin Harris, and Sadie Hyde are graduating with their Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts while still attending high school.

A big thank you to all our amazing 7th grade parents for making yesterday such a wonderful experience! We especially want to shout out Mrs. Kendyl Stovall and Mrs. Camile Mendoza for their hard work in making sure everything went smoothly. A huge thanks also goes to Mt. Olive Baptist Church for the delicious desserts! We appreciate Mrs. Rhonda Corder, Mrs. Barbara Sheffield, and Mrs. Bobbie Matthews for their tasty contributions—everything was absolutely delightful!

Today, we celebrate National Nurses Day and the incredible individuals who care for our students every day! Our school nurses do so much more than treat bumps and bruises. They provide comfort, compassion, and a calm presence when it’s needed most. From managing daily health needs to supporting our campuses behind the scenes, our nurses play a vital role in keeping our schools safe and healthy.

Let's TACO BOUT TUESDAY! Thank you to our 2nd grade parents! They went off script with the variety of options that the staff had to choose from for lunch. They had anything and everything tacos, and it was scrumptious. Our own Miranda Priestly aka Mrs. Shirey (IYKYK), passed out SWAG bags to our entire 2025-2026 cast. Tuesday is a wrap, and we can't wait to see what Wednesday will bring!

Thank you to all of our incredible SRES parents for making our entire staff feel like true Hollywood celebrities with the personalized decorations and a spread that looked like it was catered by some of Tinsel Town's greatest chefs! We started Monday with a delicious nacho bar provided by our 3rd grade parents. Anything you could imagine to go on nachos, 3rd grade parents had already thought of ! After the gigantic lunch 3rd grade spoiled us even more with an afternoon popcorn bar filled with popcorn and all of the toppings. . We ended the day with a screening of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" at Film Alley for staff members who were able to attend. Needless to say, we had a great MOVIE MONDAY!

Her patience, kindness, and warm personality make a lasting impact, and she has a special way of building relationships with the students she serves.

Beyond her daily route, Beth is a true team player. She is always willing to step in, adjust her schedule, and go the extra mile to ensure routes are covered and field trips run smoothly. Her reliability and willingness to help wherever needed make her an invaluable part of our transportation team and our district as a whole.
