Our students had an amazing time getting an up-close look at the trucks, equipment, and vehicles that help keep our community moving every day. Events like this give students the chance to explore, ask questions, and connect what they learn in the classroom with the real world.

We are incredibly thankful for the community members and organizations who took the time to visit with our students and share about the important work they do. Click here to see additional photos from the event. https://shorturl.at/CtsJS

Special thank you to the following individuals and organizations who helped make the day possible:

Atmos Energy
Gastonia-Scurry Water Department
Kaufman County Public Works – Precinct 4

Scurry-Rosser ISD is making some changes to several bus routes to help improve our transportation schedules. During this time, pickup and drop-off times may change a little while we get the new routes worked out. Please be patient with us as we make these improvements.

If you have questions, please contact your student’s campus for assistance. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to better serve our students and families. #SRISD #WildcatPride

As part of National Nutrition Month, Scurry-Rosser Elementary School Nurse Julia Standeford visited with students to share a special story and an important message about healthy habits.

Nurse Standeford read the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Things You Can Do That Are Good for You! and talked with students about how making healthy choices—like eating nutritious foods, staying active, and taking care of their bodies—helps them feel their best and be ready to learn. It was a fun way to celebrate reading and healthy living during Dr. Seuss Week!

Thank you, Nurse Standeford, for helping our Wildcats learn how small healthy choices can make a big difference.

Last week, Kaufman County 911 Dispatchers had the opportunity to visit with students to teach 911 awareness and the important role of 911. They talked about when it’s appropriate to call 911, the difference between an emergency and a non-emergency, and how dispatchers help keep our community safe. Thank you to the students and staff for welcoming us and learning how to use 911 the right way! Click here to view photos from the presentation: https://shorturl.at/Rhvtp

Due to potential inclement weather tomorrow, the softball Dawson and baseball games will be played today. Softball vs. Dawson will begin at 6:00 PM here. Baseball will be in Palmer at 6:00 PM. We appreciate everyone's flexibility as we work to keep our students, coaches, and fans safe while still getting the games in.

Stay tuned to Scurry-Rosser ISD's website and social media for the latest information in case additional adjustments are needed. Thank you for supporting our Wildcats and Ladycats. #WildcatPride
