Students in Mr. Magee’s 2nd-grade music class recently had the opportunity to try something new—scarf training! This engaging activity was inspired by ideas Mr. Magee brought back from the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Conference. Using scarves, students practiced rhythm, movement, and musical expression in a fun, hands-on way. Activities like this help young learners connect music with motion while strengthening coordination, creativity, and confidence.

March is Music in Education Month, and experiences like this highlight how music classes provide students with opportunities to explore, create, and learn in exciting ways. Watch the students practicing this technique here:
https://shorturl.at/PBUlk Great job to our 2nd graders, and thank you to Mr. Magee for bringing new ideas back to our classrooms! #MusicInOurSchoolsMonth #WildcatPride #SRISD #MusicEducation
